Roaming Animals

Other than working with the team that was here. I had to drive out in the bush and get a patient, who was still bleeding after giving birth to a baby. The bleeding just wouldn't stop so they asked me if I would go get her. She was at one of the Rural Health Clinics that are in the villages around Zimba about 25 kms away. So me and a couple of nursing students went. When we got there, they examined here and said we should take her back to the hospital. So we loaded her up with the baby and went to the hospital. Later on I found out that they helped her and she was better-- no more bleeding.

At the Zimba Mission Hospital, there is a lot of wildlife that come wondering through. On a regular basis we see herds of cows, goats, and even donkeys come through grazing on the grass at the hospital. The picture is of the cows at the hospital. I have not had my camera when the donkeys have been there. There are chickens also, but they are at the hospital all the time so I've gotten used to seeing them. The animals are all let to wander freely so that is why they end up at the hospital.
