World AIDS Day

December 1 was World's AIDS Day. At the hospital there was a commemoration ceremony. This included a speech from Dr. Dan Jones, the CMO of the hospital, and one other special speaker. Also it included dancing and music. This day is one to continue to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and to let everyone know about the ARV treatments. It also helps to remove the stigma of the disease, and tries to lessen the prejudice towards ones with the disease. All the students from the local schools came and marched with an AIDS Day banner. The staff at the hospital and whoever else wanted to came and enjoyed the commemoration. HIV/AIDS is a huge problem here; 1 in 6 people have the disease. Here are some pictures.
